Pimped out Mac!

Hello All!

I've been having so much fun with all the free time I've had lately that I've pimped out my macbook completely,  here check out the screen shot:

(Finder, Preview, Dashboard, App. Cleaner, Sys. Pref., VLC, imovie, itunes, Bittorrent, Firefox, Time Machine, Skype, Quicktime, Safari, Dvd player, Neooffice, automator, icursor, iphoto, daisydisk, pinter, and trash(empty is a closed chest)and eject is a skull)

So I used "Dock Switcher" to change the dock.  "Candy Bar" to change the icons, and icursor  to get that sparkling purple effect for my pointer.  Found all these programs and icons for free just with a little searching on some blogs. I named a lot of programs up there but my faves are VLC, App. Cleaner, Neo office, and daisydisk.  For those who haven't heard of them.  VLC is a great program that will play almost any kind of media, also can repair bad files, and can circumvent region codes. App. Cleaner, is awesome on macs cause it hunts down all associated files and erases them too.  Neooffice is an open office program for mac and is FREE!  way better than paying for micro office, and is quite comparable. Lastly daisydisk, helps you see how much space you have on you hard drive(s) and tells you what already have (very pretty program too).  Until next time!

MAC OSX Built in Speakers aren't working? But the headphones are?

Hello,

So I had a little problem earlier with my Macbook. The sound wasn't working and it showed and "x" and a full sound bar. Well I went to look up what it was and found not posts except that someone said their head phones worked, so I plugged mine in and vala! sound, but wait when I pull them out there goes the sound again. Thankfully I don't like sunlight so it was dark and I perchanced to see a red light coming out of the headphone jack, hum ahaa sensor! So I just blew it out with a can of air duster and "poof" the sound was back on. So just thought I'd post just in case anyone else comes across the same problem!

Awe, speaking of my macbook, hear is a video that I made using all the cool features of imovie '09. Enjoy!

Furigana Injector!

Hello Ya'll,

For those of you who are studying Japanese, here is a great add on for Firefox: the furigana injector. Will add furigana (reading for kanji) beside (or above with the Ruby ext.) Can be set to ignore as little as the first 100 Kanji, so is great for beginners and when progress, the readings can be scaled back. I truly think this is a great add on and a must for any Japanese student!

Speaking of studying... a great website I found: http://www.yakitome.com Enter text and a robot, (choice of many different voices) will read it back to you. Also supports German, Spanish, and French. Used it last night to read my history notes back to me.... well it was kind of funny cause I mark things in the notes, that the teacher says will be on the test with a *. "star 1879 star Louis "x" "v" "i".... (ex, vee, eye). But great to read articles off web pages too! Let me know what you think!
